Good idea to 'upgrade' to one or not?

Re: Sky Q Box
You can have as many mini boxes as you like but only two can be used at any one time.

You only pay one fee for Multi screen regardless of how many mini boxes you are using.

Last time I looked, they were £49

Re: Sky Q Box
Happily fucked Sky off a few weeks ago after they tried to up my monthly bill from 70 rags to 108 when my contract finished.

So...

Kept their BB but replacing it with Fibre for 34.00 a month
IPTV on Firestick ton a year
Roku with Disney and Prime
Free Sat box that plugs and plays into sky Q cables.

Sky can do one.

I may be wrong but I think the Multiroom subscription gives you the ability to use more than one mini box at no additional monthly subscription cost, the only additional cost is for the box itself at about £100. How much are they on eBay?

Re: Sky Q Box
I already have multi screen subscription with just one additional mini box but wanted to see if I could just add another and save on the additional monthly charge for a second mini box.

Re: Sky Q Box
….Or as MMG stated, take out MS subscription and first mini is free

Re: Sky Q Box
Unfortunately not, because as they are all connected via WiFi, Sky can monitor which accounts these boxes are connected to.

I wouldn’t risk it for the sake of £49

If you're talking about the boxes that give you Sky on a second TV, I think you need a Multiscreen subscription with which you get a free mini box anyway.

Re: Sky Q Box
Can anyone advise if you can buy a sky a mini box from say eBay and easily connect yourself without sky knowing?

My sky go app is a cunt, as soon as I leave the house and it's out of range it disconnects. Was fine on my old phone, but when I got a new blower last year I couldn't get it to work.

Re: Sky Q Box
I got a cheaper deal … said my old SKY+ box was kaput and I wanted out… bit of nego’ing and got Entertainment package (don’t bother sport or films as have them covered SWT) for £30 a month with full UHD… no brainer for us

SecondOpinion 6:17 Tue Jan 11
Re: Sky Q Box
I only watch
Netflix
BBC
KODI

and I never record anything, but I think with my current package, I'm getting these in either SD or HD as, especially in the evening, the picture degrades. I understand this is a common error?
I do have a 4K tv and it will register that the content is UHD

Re: Sky Q Box
Negotiated a free one from Sky, when my contract renewal came up, last year.

While it has a greater storage capacity and can record more programmes simultaneously, lacks some features from my old Sky Box, that I miss.

Such as not being able to set a programme reminder (have to record it instead), doesn't show how any minutes you are behind live TV, if you pause it, nor show how minutes remaining of a recorded programme, if you pause it. Deleting recordings/downloads, isn't as intuitive, as it used to be

Does save having to go into your smart TV, to watch Netflix, You Tube etc, just click on the app you want to watch from the Sky home screen.

If you do upgrade, you lose all your existing recordings from your old Sky box (not purchased films etc, they transfer over).

Wouldn't pay for it, but if it's offered gratis, I'd take it again.

NS
tbh I don't know what my current box is called. I have had it for quite a few years. I guess I've got comfortable with it. Although it does freeze occasionally.

Re: Sky Q Box
The only thing about sky q is the userability. it is a lot more faff than sky plus.

But upgrade.
